PURPOSE,
POLICY, AND ETHICS OF THE
ORANGE COUNTY CALLERS ASSOCIATION
Orange County Callers Association is a
duly constituted organization of square dance callers, bound together by a
general interest in square dancing, square dance calling, a desire to improve
and contribute to square dancing in the area, and an interest in the courtesies
and ethics necessary to maintain a healthy professional atmosphere in the square
dance field. To accomplish those purposes for which OCCA was organized and to
further the general interests of the membership, the following policies and
procedures shall be adhered to:
The members of OCCA shall willingly assist one another in the promotion of clubs, dances, and other activities.
The members of OCCA are in general agreement with standardization programs where no control of callers or material is involved.
The membership of OCCA shall strive to assist each other to progress in the square dance field.
OCCA shall not be used as a political instrument, nor for the promotion of any one member or group of members to the detriment of the remainder.
OCCA shall continually strive to conduct programs mutually beneficial to the majority of the membership.
All members of OCCA shall be treated equally, fairly, and shall be afforded the same benefits, privileges, and opportunities of participation.
All members of OCCA shall bear equally the responsibilities to promote the aims, policies, and procedures of the organization.
No member shall bring discredit upon, nor unfairly criticize OCCA, but will abide by, and actively support the will of the majority.
Any member having a grievance against another member, or the OCCA, such grievance having to do with calling, calling ethics, or matters pertaining to square dancing, shall have the right to present his or her grievance before the membership for arbitration.
